Lettie Mathebe

From mourning to joy!

Lettie attended church from childhood, but never experienced a personal relationship with Christ. She was married with 3 children when the wheels of her life started to fall of. In a short space of time her marriage fell apart and she lost her job. Lettie accepts her part in the divorce at that time, she now knows that “The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down” Proverbs 14:1.

Soon afterwards she became very ill with excruciating pain, no scans or X-rays could determine the cause. Eventually Lettie went to a man who prayed for her and within a few days the pain was gone and she was healed. This was the start of her journey to the cross. In 2006 her son invited Lettie to Hatfield Christian Church for the Mother’s day service, where she responded to the alter call and began a relationship with our Lord. Over time God has brought healing to all areas of hurts and Lettie can now offer His grace to others, she is now an assistant cell leader in the church.

In 2008 Lettie started another job as a temp, but within a few weeks was offered a full time contract. She has moved through the ranks to become the PA to the director. It is here that she is a light, encouraging and praying for colleagues in their hardships, and influencing others to be positive when the pressure is on! Lettie says that she works for the Lord not for men, so she is even more motivated to do her best in her office.

Her favourite verse is Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose”. After going through life’s trials, Lettie is restored to a place where she knows God’s peace as she fulfils His purpose in her home, church and place of work.
