Morning Ladies,

I trust that you had a wonderful and peaceful rest over the December period. I am sure that by this time, you are already rolling into 2012.

Well, we are also ready to ‘roll’, to journey, to discover paths with you as we walk together into what God has for us this year.

We have prepared an amazing devotional book which contains 52 life changing teachings. This book will be launched soon and I encourage you to make sure you get hold of one. Each week, we will be discussing a snippet from this book’s teaching and we trust that by the end of 2012, we will be different – more like Him – and that more of His kingdom will be established in our lives.

Morning Ladies,

This week is a very exciting week for us at Hatfield Christian Church as we start with our Week of Prayer and Fasting until Sunday 29 th January. I encourage you to join in with us and be part of what God is doing. We have attached the details around the Week of Prayer and Fasting, and would ask that you please read these and consider where you can join in.

On Wednesday morning, 25 th January from 09h00-12h00 in the Function Hall, us ladies are going to pray to and worship our King. Please join us if you can.

Today, we are going to look at the first two teaching. These are: ‘Reading His Word’ and ‘Praying’.

HIS WORD

I would like to highlight an excellent method of absorbing content from the Word. We suggest that you read the portion of scripture you are studying twice; then note any specific verses that jump up at you; consider how these verses could change your life; and then finally ask God to help you to apply them.

POWERFUL POWER

When you pray, remember that God wants to speak to you even more than you want to talk with Him. Stop and listen.

Morning Ladies,

I trust that you are well and have received a nugget or two from the Lord to take with you into 2012 from this past week of Prayer and Fasting. What an amazing week we had!

Please consider registering for our ‘Prayer challenge’ which starts next week Tuesday the 7 th of February.

You may recall that I said that we are going to focus on one thing each week from our devotional book. This week, we are looking at the ‘Holy Spirit’ and ‘Intimacy with God’. This can be found under the section – FOUNDATIONS.

THIS WEEKS FOCUS

Maintaining an intimate relationship with the Lord is something that we should place a high value on, however it requires some effort from our side.

Psalm 63 tells us what David did. It say that he sought the Lord, his soul clung and thirsted for the Lord, his body longed for the Lord, he thought of the Lord, and he expressed his loved for the Lord through praise and worship.

Perhaps there is an adjustment that you need to make to step up your relationship with the Lord. Be encouraged to make that adjustment!

PRAYER FOCUS

Father, I pray that you will help us to press in and hold on to more of You. Amen.
