God’s heart for the marketplace God has a heart for every city and the heartbeat of a city is the marketplace (including business, arts, education, and government). In fact, Jesus was particularly interested in and focussed most of His ministry on the marketplace. From His teens until His early thirties, He practised His trade as a carpenter and later He and His disciples (people He had recruited out of the marketplace, including a tax collector and commercial fishermen) interacted regularly with people who were going about their daily business in the ‘highways and byways’.
