INTIMACY IN MARRIAGE

Hi ladies

The challenge for the next two terms is specifically intended for the married ladies.

The topic we will be addressing is sexual intimacy, which is reserved for the married couple, according to the Word of God. A happy and successful marriage is obviously made up of a number of factors, of which sex is only one. Since the other factors, for example; communication, submission or respect, are often spoken of, and sexual intimacy is not, this is what the focus of these teachings will be.

In the third term we will spend eight weeks laying down biblical foundations ending with a simple plan of action. The fourth term will give advice concerning keeping love alive in your marriage, as well as overcoming obstacles and challenges that could stand in the way of victory in this area of your life.

I believe we will have covered most, if not all, of the most frequently asked questions, concerns and misconceptions concerning sexual intimacy in marriage by the end of the two terms. However, you are welcome to email any questions you may still have. Please be assured that the content of these emails will not be discussed with anyone, nor will your identity be made known.

What are we not going to be doing?

We are not going to learn how to change our husbands. The well-known book by Stormie Omartian, The Power of a Praying Wife, starts with a chapter directed at the wife.

When she came before the Lord with her list of challenges concerning her husband, the Lord challenged her to say ‘Lord change me!’

None of us have perfect husbands and none of us are perfect. But we are here saying “Lord, what must I change and what can I do, so that I can be the wife you destined me to be for my husband and especially in the area of intimacy.”
